What to look at and what to look for

the spotlight lands on you: body, name, presence, the way you enter a room. this is the year's front door. health flares, image shifts, identity experiments, the urge to reinvent how you look or move or introduce yourself. people read you differently; you may feel pushed to show up as someone new.

Start here before you chase transits.

• the sign on your 1st-house cusp: its element and modality tell you the costume this year wants you to wear.
• your Ascendant ruler (the year lord): its natal sign, house, and aspects. this planet is the steering wheel until your next birthday.
• any planets sitting in your 1st house natally: they get amplified; their themes become visible on your face.
• aspects to your Ascendant and to the year lord: hard aspects name the friction; soft aspects name the ease you can lean on.
• Mars and the Sun in your natal chart: in a 1st-house year they often time courage, conflict, or a push to assert yourself.

In the sky this year

Mark dates when the year lord or profected house is touched; those are the year's loudest weather.

• transits to your year lord: conjunctions reset the story; squares and oppositions test it. mark the dates.
• transits through your 1st house: especially the faster planets (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars) as monthly weather.
• eclipses on or aspecting your Ascendant or year lord: hinge months; something gets revealed or closed.
• Saturn or Pluto touching your year lord: slow, heavy redefinitions of who you are allowed to be.

Inside the twelve months
